This week we were doing our Exit Point debates to finish our Drug Education unit. Students did a wonderful job of researching and preparing then presented very well. Here are a few pictures from this week’s debates showing students presenting and one of our wonderful panels of judges.

Purpose

The purpose was for students to think critically and understand how to build a well-constructed argument. Students have spent the last 6 weeks researching the effects of various types of drugs, as well as the social concept of why people take drugs, the penalties for taking and dealing drugs and how drugs are transported.  This allowed students to take this information and present it and learn important lessons like how to argue and opinion and justify their reasons.
